Muhammad Umair Ilyas is a Haripur-born optometrist with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology, affiliated with Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. His training covered ocular anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology, clinical ophthalmology and optics.
He has worked in busy hospital eye departments, at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar and Abbottabad Medical Complex, where daily OPD work includes refraction, cycloplegic refraction for children, orthoptic and low-vision assessments, and diagnostic tests such as biometry, B-scan, perimetry and OCT.
Beyond the clinic he has served communities through eye camps, school screening and NGO outreach, including free eye camps in Azad Kashmir.
